A 36-YEAR-OLD suspect was arrested on Wednesday, 24 May, in Mapleton extension 10, by members of SAPS Dawn Park, for possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and drugs.

According to Captain Amanda van Wyk, police were reportedly out on a routine crime prevention patrol when they received a tip from the community and went to the address given.

"Upon arrival at the said address, the members conducted a search, which led to the recovery of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and drugs were seized.

"Police also recovered cash believed to be proceeds from alleged drug dealings,” Wyke said.
