A WOMAN is looking for closure after her husband was allegedly killed by a sangoma during cleansing rituals earlier this year.
Noluthando Domingo (42) from Gugulethu, Cape Town, was separated from her husband, Johannes Domingo (51), when he went for a cleansing ritual with a sangoma at a bushy area near Isiqhalo squatter camp in Philippi on 31 March.
According to Noluthando, she was called by the husband’s nyatsi telling her that Johannes had died.
“I need closure after Johannes’ death. His girlfriend told me Johannes was dead. We went and saw his naked body in a sitting position inside a ditch,” she said.
Noluthando said the nyatsi told her she had joined Johannes and the sangoma as she was also going to be cleansed.
She said the sangoma went into the bushes with Johannes but came back alone.
“The girlfriend said when it was her turn to be cleansed she realised that Johannes took too long to come back. When she went to check on him, she found him dead. When she ran back to tell the sangoma, he had disappeared,” said Noluthando.
The sangoma who was renting in Samora Machel allegedly went back to KZN.

Noluthando said cops at Samora Machel cop shop were not giving her updates.
“My children know that their father died but they do not know fully about what happened or whether cops have arrested his killer. I have been sent from one detective to another without any help,” she said.
Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said Noluthando must meet with the station commander at Philippi cop shop to get further assistance.
