DA councillor, Cilliers Brink has been elected as the new mayor of Tshwane.
Brink went head-to-head with COPE Councilor Ofentse Moalusi, receiving 109 votes out of 211 votes.
Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) officials announced that there were no spoilt ballot papers and that the elections were free and fair.
The win comes amid no consistent mayor within the Capital City since the resignation of Randal Williams in February.
A "brief mayor" Dr Murunwa Makwarela, was elected but he had to disgracefully step down after trying to forge his way through the big office.
The secret ballot voting took place on Tuesday, 28 March afternoon, where it had a shaky start.
EFF and ANC councillors threatened to boycott the voting if the speaker of the Council does not act on the 69 DA councillors who voted wrongly when the speaker was elected two weeks ago.

They also insisted that the IEC makes the rules known to the councillors, claiming they are protecting councilors who may be victimised if they vote against their parties.
But after several adjournments, the councillors voted, giving the DA-led coalition a clear-cut win.
After Brinks elections, he took the podium, accompanied by singing and dancing from his members.
Making his first inaugural speech, Brink said he was not here on his behalf or his political party but as the leader of a coalition party.
He said he wants to build a capital city that works, with free of corruption.
“We want to build a capital city that works for all people,” he said.
He further said he wants to tackle issues that involves finances and deal with the loadshedding issue.
