A LOVE triangle ended in tears after a police officer allegedly shot his girlfriend.
The Eastern Cape policeman stationed at Kamvelihle in Nelson Mandela Bay is now behind bars for allegedly gunning down his girlfriend on Sunday, 29 November following an argument after she apparently caught him with another woman.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate reported the shooting incident on Sunday but provided scant details.
Spokeswoman Grace Langa said: “The Ipid arrested a police officer stationed at Kamvelihle in Gqeberha after he shot and killed his girlfriend on Sunday. It is reported that the woman went to the policeman’s home in Motherwell where she found him in bed with another woman. An argument ensued and the policeman allegedly drew his firearm and fired six shots at her. The woman died on the scene and the policeman is due to appear in court soon for murder,” she said.
