THABANG Moswane, who is accused of stabbing his mother to death, remains in custody.
The 24-year-old allegedly killed his mum Kedisaletse in Mathopestad, near Koster in the North West, on 9 May and was apparently seen drinking blood from a stab wound to her neck.
Moswane appeared in the Koster Magistrates Court on Monday, 16 May.
The case was postponed to 30 May and he’ll be kept in jail until then.
It’s alleged he and Kedisaletse, a mum of six, got into an argument when he asked her for R10 and she told him she didn’t have it. She was later found dead with numerous stab wounds.
Kedisaletse’s sister Naomi (68) said the funeral left the family in debt. She said they still owed the funeral parlour money. “We had to borrow money for food. It was painful.”
Naomi said the family believed the law would take its course.
“Thabang should be rehabilitated. It’s best that he remains in custody. The family is not ready to welcome him back,” she said.
Kedisaletse was buried on Sunday, 15 May at Mathopestad Cemetery.
