ANGRY residents believe the cops were given "cold drink" to destroy the docket opened by a mother whose daughter was rescued from a pit-bull.
They claimed the cops did not do their job properly, hence the docket has now come back to haunt them.
The docket was found by a stranger after it was allegedly found dumped on the outskirts of Buhle Park Phase 1 in Ekurhuleni on Thursday, 9 March.
The stranger allegedly contacted the complaint, whose numbers were on the cover of the docket. It turned out that the complaint was a mother of a five-year-old girl who was saved by construction workers from being mauled by a pitbul in Buhle Park.
Daily Sun published the story last month, 23 February, headlined Girl (5) saved from pit-bull attack.

Now the cops from Elsburg in Ekurhuleni are in a tight spot.
It's alleged that they are trying to get the docket back from the family.
The 26-year-old mum said the cops tried to convince her and allegedly threatened to arrest her if she did not return the docket.
"We recorded the cops making threats and they were not aware of it."
Dailysun is in possession of these recordings.
She said they became concerned when they saw no progress in the case against the pit-bull owner.
But last Thursday, they got the answer. And that has angered the residents of Buhle Park.
The residents said that the discovery of the docket will reveal all the secrets.
"We are angry to see cops taking people for granted. How could a docket that was supposed to be at the police station end up in the bush?"
The girl's mum told Daily Sun that the person who allegedly found the docket contacted her number, which was written on the docket.
"He called and told me that he found the docket in the bushes not far from the footpath. We suspect that the cops were paid, but never thought that they could be caught," she said.
The mum said that after she allegedly received the docket, she went to the Elsburg Police Station under the pretence that she was bringing the outstanding J88 form.
"We just said we brought them the outstanding form, but we first demanded to see the docket first. One of the clerks told us that they had it in the storeroom but would not bring it to us.
"We explained that it was found dumped in the open space behind Phase 1, and they were shocked," she said.
She said they left and only to be followed by the cops who allegedly demanded the docket.
Elsburg police spokeswoman Daphney Phooko said the cop assigned to the case forgot the docket at the woman's place at the time she brought her a J88 form.
