RESIDENTS from Covid-19 informal settlement in Mfuleni, Cape Town, lost their homes in a shack fire on Sunday, 31 March.

According to residents, the fire was allegedly caused by a woman who set her boyfriend’s shack on fire as she accused him of cheating.

“We are homeless because of umjolo. We lost everything we've worked hard for. Two people also died in this fire because of someone’s jealousy. We are angry,” said resident Puseletso Mangaliso (44).
