MONDAY, 19 February, is the day the ANC is expected to hand over its cadre deployment records to the DA as instructed by the Constitutional Court.
Last week, the governing party lost its appeal at the ConCourt in an attempt to have it overturn the High Court ruling that they should hand over records dating back to 1 January 2013.
The DA filed legal papers against the ANC in 2023 to have the governing party’s cadre deployment policy declared unconstitutional and unlawful.
The ANC has been given five days to hand over all the records, which include meeting minutes, CVs, emails, WhatsApp messages and other relevant documents, when President Cyril Ramaphosa became cadre deployment chairman during former president Jacob Zuma’s administration.
Monday, 19 February, is the day for that to happen.

Speaking to Daily Sun, DA Member of Parliament and head of administration for Public Service, Leon Schreiber, said the party will be waiting for the documents and if the ANC tries to delay the process, they will use all means to fight them.
“In the past week, we saw significant victory for transparency and for building a capable state for South Africa, when the Constitutional Court ruled in DA’s favour that the ANC must hand over cadre deployment records dating back to January 2013, when president Ramaphosa became the chairman of the deployment of the party," Schreiber said.
“The DA is expecting to get the records. I heard a lot of speculations that say the ANC won’t comply. They'll come up with some excuse, but I can assure you the DA stands ready to take further action because we know from court processes that these records do exist and if the ANC doesn't comply, they'll be undermining the Constitution.”
Schreiber said once the DA receives the records, it'll study them and from what they know through the Zondo Commission in the State Capture, there have been some irregularities which they will take legal actions against.
ANC spokeswoman, Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri has confirmed on Sunday, 18 February, that the party will comply with the court order.
If the ANC fails to comply, it faces serious repercussions such as a fine, imprisonment, or both.
