BONGANI Ngqotho might have seen his own death coming.
The 31-year-old Bolt driver from Mailula in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni was kidnapped and killed on Thursday, 18 August.
According to his partner Puna Mabena, he acted strangely earlier that day.
She said he sang Sam Deep’s love song Ngaphakathi to her and promised to throw her a party in October.
When Bongani got a call from someone requesting a ride just before 8pm and left home, his family did not know it was the last time he’d be seen alive.
Bongani was kidnapped that night and his body was found in Katlehong the next afternoon.
A devastated Puna said: the loss of her husband had left a massive void in her life. “He had not been working for a while and when he got this job, he was excited to be contributing to the household. He had only been working for two weeks and we had started planning a lot of things together.”
Bongani’s brother, Zolani Ngqotho, said the Suzuki Celerio he was driving was found parked on a pavement in Katlehong. with the windows open by a tracker company.
“My brother’s body was found in the bush, not far from the houses.”
