A BLIND man from Covid-19 informal settlement near Mfuleni, Cape Town, is lucky to be alive after a speeding taxi crashed into his mkhukhu on Friday, 26 January.

Musa Balimani (21) was asleep in his shack at about 10am when he heard a bang that was followed by a screeching sound.

“Before I could figure out what happened, I felt myself in the air before landing on the ground, and I could tell that I was outside the shack. I felt some zinc sheets on top of me, and I could feel that my mattress was next to me,” he said.
