Siphesihle Lukhozi and her mother Mbali Lukhozi are pleading for help.

A MOTHER'S wish is to see her little girl's pretty face.

This is because her daughter Siphesihle Lukhozi's face was injured after she got burnt by boiling water in November 2021.

Now two-year-old Siphesihle looks totally different from how she looked when she was born.

Mbali Lukhozi (27) from Sunshine area in Marriannhil, Durban told Daily Sun her daughter was only nine months old when the incident happened.

She said there was boiling water on the table and Siphesihle pulled the table and the hot water fell on her. Her body was burnt, but mostly her face.

"I rushed her to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital. They told me that she was badly burnt and they transferred her to Addington Hospital where she received help," she said.

Mbali said she was treated and it seemed like she had healed.

Siphesihle Lukhozi needs help to do plastic surgery.

"But her skin is in a bad condition now. It gets itchy and when she scratches sores come out. So I don't think her skin, especially on her face, completely healed," she said.

She said Siphesihle needs her skin to be properly treated.

"I believe that once her skin is healed, she will be able to do the plastic surgery.

"I would really appreciate it if someone could assist me with donations. That would be the best thing that ever happened in my life because my daughter was not born in this way," she said.

Mbali said she fears her child might not be confident enough if she grows up without getting help.

The young mother also appealed to residents to also assist her daughter with clothes, as most of hers are now small.
