RESIDENTS have been begging for their bad road to be fixed.

They said it was muddy and slippery, which made it difficult for their cars to pass.

The road connects extension 11 and Pienaarspoort in Mamelodi East, Tshwane.

The residents claimed the municipality had abandoned them.

The SunTeam visited the area and saw how the cars were struggling to pass through the road.

Community leader Lucky Moagi (38) said the road gave them a lot of problems.

He said he didn’t understand why the municipality wasn’t fixing it because the matter was reported more than a year ago.

“This is bad as many motorists are scared to drive through and others’ cars break down,” he said. “The municipality has failed us and we need an urgent solution to the bad roads.”

Lucky said what made matters worse was that taxis, ambulances and police vehicles also struggled to reach the area.

Councillor Morwangwato Mantjane told the People’s Paper: “We are aware of the dysfunctional road as we had received complaints from residents.

He urged residents to be patient.
