REGISTRATION for the elections in Mzansi was sharply criticised by a South African elder who also regrets casting his vote in the first elections after the apartheid era.
Madala Khekhe Sekere (64) from Phuthaditjhaba in the Free State said he won't register to vote because it's a a pointless exercise.
Khekhe told Daily Sun that he made a big mistake when he voted for the ANC in 1994 in the hope that everything would flourish in a democratic state, but the dream hasn't materialised.
"It was my first and last vote. Unfortunately, it was done out of excitement, without knowing the true meaning of democracy. Only now do we realise that democracy means oppression by those you vote for.

Khekhe said life was better before 1994 because everybody was working. He complained about foreign nationals who dominate the local economy with their spaza hops while South Africans have to live a hard life.
"I'm not going to waste my time registering. I'm not going to vote. No political party is going to change the situation we are currently swimming in. We are in the second era of oppression," he said.
