THERE’s been yet another mass shooting in Gauteng.

The recent one happened in Thembelihle informal settlement in Lanesia, south of Joburg on Saturday night, 16 July 2022, where four people have been shot and killed.

It is reported that gunmen opened fire randomly and killed five people and injuring two others.

The details around the recent shooting are still scratchy at the moment.

The Lenasia mass shooting happened less than 24 hours after the Alexandra shooting where also, six people were shot and killed allegedly by a gang. The sixth person is said to have died in hospital while five died on scene.

In the Alexandra case, police reported that seven people have been arrested in connection with the murders.  On Sunday in Soweto, another mass shooting occurred in a tavern, leaving at least 16 people dead. There has been no arrest in the case.

The families of the deceased said they would like to see those behind the deaths of their loved ones arrested before they could lay them to rest.
