IT seems electricity problems in some parts of eThekwini are far from over.
This is because residents from Lindelani north of KZN embarked on a protest on Friday, 15 March, blocking the road with burning tyers.
Residents said they are fed up because they've had to live without electricity for two weeks now.
They said they took to the streets because they want their councillor to address the electricity crisis.
Ward 43 community leader, Subusiso Ngcobo, told Daily Sun all they want is electricity. He said they have been patient all along and now residents are fed up.
"What angers residents the most is that municipality workers came to the area and the problem was identified. They were supposed to come back but didn't. That is why today we decided to blockade the road," he said.
"The councillor was present when they faulty cable was identified, but they never came back, and he has done nothing."

A resident, Thandeka Mtolo said she has had to throw away rotten meat from her fridge.
"This is unfair, when the problem started, I had just bought meat, which I ended up throwing away because it was rotten. The councillor must bring Eskom to fix the cable so that our lives can go back to normal," she said.
Councillor Muzikayise Thusi said he has done everything in his power to have the problem resolved but without any luck.
"I contacted the electricity department, and they came and identified the problem. Now, we're waiting for the contractor to fix the cable. I don't know why they haven't arrived," he said.
Meanwhile, the eThekwini Municipality Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda said municipality workers who have embarked on a strike have returned to work. He said things will be back to normal withing two weeks.
