A HUSBAND of a teacher at Msunduzi Secondary School in Pietermaritzburg, KZN, entered the school carrying a gun.
He was fuming when he demanded to see his wife on Thursday, 8 September at about 8.30am.
The principal intervened andtried to protect his staff member by blocking the angry husband at the reception, but this was the end for the 66-year-old man!
The man shot pointed the gun at the principal,the principal multiple times before fleeing the scene.
This happened a few minutes after teaching and learning had began on Thursday, 8 September.
KZN education spokesman Muzi Mahlambi said the armed man entered the school threatening to shoot his wife, who is a teacher.
“The principal tried to calm him down and blocked him from going beyond the reception area.
“The gunman shot the principal.
“Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and died,” Mahlambi said.
KZN police spokeswoman Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said the principal was it is alleged that at 8.30am, the woman was at her workplace, which is a school in Pietermaritzburg, when she was visited by an aggressive man. She said he sustained multiple gunshot wounds and confirmed dead at the scene.
“An argument ensued between the two and the school principal tried to calm the situation but he was shot numerous times,” said Ngcobo.
“A case of murder was opened at Pietermaritzburg Police Station for investigation,” said Ngcobo.
Meanwhile, in another incident, two security guards were gunned down during an armed robbery at gun shop in Mark Lane, Durban. CBD.
Ngcobo said: “We can confirm the incident.”, however, the members are still at the scene.”
