ANGRY residents protested outside the OR Tambo Government Precinct in Germiston, Ekurhuleni on Tuesday, 12 March.
Concerned residents from Thokoza, Katlehong and members of the ANC Youth League turned up in large numbers to voice their concerns.
They said they were tired of empty promises from the Ekurhuleni Municipality, and felt they were not being treated well and demanded changes in leadership.
Nonhlanhla Mthethwa from Empilisweni, Thokoza, said they've not had electricity in their area for 31 years.

"All we want is electricity. The councillors came and promised us that there'd be electricity. But we have been waiting and nothing has happened, and we believe nothing will happen.
Kathorus Concern Residents spokesman Bongani Makhubo said his organisation was there with the residents of the hostel to hand over a memorandum.
"Residents are complaining about the lack of houses. Some of them have been waiting since 1996. There's absolutely no development in our area," Bongani.
ANC Youth League chairman Lorraine Mahlosane said: "Residents were there to support the ANC in its decision to denounce and distance itself from its collaboration with the EFF."
This is a developing story.
