THE Traditional Healers Association is angry with gobelas who rape amathwasana.
On Thursday, 4 May members of the association were at Alexandra Magistrate Court to support the families of the two raped amathwasana.
A boy (13) and girl (14) were allegedly raped by a gobela in 2021 while they were 10 and 11 years old in his indumba in Alexandra, east of Joburg.
The ogbela (43) appeared in court and his case has been postponed to Thursday, 18 May.
It is alleged that the gobela wanted to insert muthi inside them during the rape ordeal, but one of the victims' family member said she suspects the sangoma was having sex with these kids to feed his snake.

"He has destroyed our kids' lives and one of them is now on drugs," said a relative.
The family of the 13-year-old boy said they didn't want to send their child to thwasa, but the gobela insisted.
"The gobela told us we were not going to pay anything. We still believe he insisted for a reason. He just wanted to carry out his evil deeds on our boy," said another relative.
Gogo Brenda Selibi from the association said: "As we support the notion of no bail for such rapists, this is not the only problem that these fake gobelas or traditional healers perpetuate. Some of them go to an extend of raping their patients under pretence that they are inserting muthi, especially female patients. There is no such treatment. No traditional healer, herbalist or inyanga that is required to sleep with their patients to insert medicine or muthi.”
