ACTIONSA President Herman Mashaba is expected to announce the Western Cape premier candidate on Tuesday, 27 February.
Party spokesman, Samkelo Mgobozi said the candidate will lead the fight against ruthless gangs that terrorise communities and champion the empowerment of every community.
“Manenburg, which is defined by escalating gang violence, widespread poverty, unemployment and chronic underdevelopment, represents the contrasting realities of the Western Cape. While one side features a picturesque of suburbs, the other reflects the harsh reality, particularly of the Cape Flats, of communities that have been forgotten for far too long,” he said.
He said ActionSA was committed to ensuring that the forgotten communities of the Western Cape could share in the province’s progress.
“We believe our candidate demonstrates the capacity to lead that charge and unite every resident behind ActionSA’s mission to fix the country and create a province that is safer and prosperous,” said Mgobozi.

The party postponed its plan to announce the Western Cape candidate on 13 February following consultation with the provincial executive committee.
Tomorrow’s announcement would mean that ActionSA has unveiled all premier candidates except for Gauteng.
Sunday World reported on Sunday, 25 February, that tension was mounting over who should be the candidate in the province.
The paper said Mashaba had the ambition to be the party’s Gauteng premier candidate, which caused division within the party as some preferred the organisation’s provincial chairman, Funzi Ngobeni.
However, Mashaba denied the allegations.
“Those who told you that are nyaope addicts who are part of drug cartels I'm fighting in Gauteng. They use drugs and later hallucinate because they're high. I've never had ambitions to become a premier candidate for Gauteng,” he told Sunday World.
