THAPELO Kotsokwane, who died while chasing izinyoka, has been finally laid to rest.
The 15-year-old boy was shot dead in the head while attempting to retrieve stolen electric lines on Thursday, January 25.
On Thursday, February 1, his memorial service was held at the Micha-Kgasi Secondary School in Kagabalatsane, North West.
The funeral procession moved from his gogo's home at phase 6 in Hebron, outside of Ga-Rankuwa, to the Kgabalatsane cemetery.
Residents came out in large numbers to bid farewell to the teenager, who was considered their hero.
Resident Dimpho Letlape told the Daily Sun that they could never allow Thapelo's death to be void.
"We vow to fight until justice is served; we will be the police's eyes and ears, helping to apprehend suspects and bring them to justice," he said.
