Olive oil is oil from the olive fruit. Its origins are from trees around the Mediterranean Sea. Once an olive is processed it releases a liquid which is the oil, called olive oil.

Olive oil is commonly used for cooking and in salad dressings, but has also been discovered for health benefits for hair and skin.

The texture in African women's hair is very dry, and natural oils are great to use to moisturize and deep condition the hair.

Olive oil is one of those oils, with its many nutrients such as vitamin E.

According to Livestrong.com, Olive oil can prevent dandruff when used as a scalp treatment. You can apply the oil directly to your scalp to soften scalp scales and prevent dandruff.

Olive oil may also be used as a deep conditioner. According to Jostlin.com olive oil is great for stronger, healthier hair and growth.

To deep condition your hair, take 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil, and heat it in the microwave for a few seconds until the oil is hot. Then apply the hot oil onto your hair generously. Once all your hair is coated, cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic bag for about 30-40 minutes. Then rinse out with water.
