MZANSI RECORDS NEW 1 649 COVID CASES!

SUNDAY, 13 FEBRUARY

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, continues to provide laboratory-based surveillance to inform the public health response towards COVID-19 in South Africa.

Today the institute reports 1 649 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 3 640 162. This increase represents an 8.1% positivity rate.

Due to the ongoing audit exercise by the National Department of Health (NDoH), there may be a backlog of COVID-19 mortality cases reported. Today, the NDoH reports 8 deaths and of these, 2 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours. This brings the total fatalities to 96 993 to date.

22 677 323 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, continues to provide laboratory-based surveillance to inform the public health response towards COVID-19 in South Africa.

Today the institute reports 2,489 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 3,637,673. This increase represents a 7.6% positivity rate.

Due to the ongoing audit exercise by the National Department of Health (NDoH), there may be a backlog of COVID-19 mortality cases reported. Today, the NDoH reports 134 deaths and of these, 9 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours. This brings the total fatalities to 96,985 to date.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, continues to provide laboratory-based surveillance to inform the public health response towards COVID-19 in South Africa.

Today the institute reports 3,357 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 3,622,210. This increase represents an 8.9% positivity rate.

Due to the ongoing audit exercise by the National Department of Health (NDoH), there may be a backlog of COVID-19 mortality cases reported. Today, the NDoH reports 48 deaths and of these, 8 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours. This brings the total fatalities to 95,817 to date.

THURSDAY, 03 FEBRUARY

OVER 30,785 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, with 3,266 new cases, representing a 10.6% positivity rate. Today, the National Department of Health reports 82 deaths and of these, 12 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours, bringing total fatalities to 95,545 to date.

Today the institute reports 2,226 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 3,603,856. This increase represents a 9.5% positivity rate.

Due to the ongoing audit exercise by the National Department of Health (NDoH), there may be a backlog of COVID-19 mortality cases reported. Today, the NDoH reports 117 deaths and of these, 15 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours. This brings the total fatalities to 95,022 to date.

Today the institute reports 3,342 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 3,601,630. This increase represents a 10.1% positivity rate.

Due to the ongoing audit exercise by the National Department of Health (NDoH), there may be a backlog of COVID-19 mortality cases reported. Today, the NDoH reports 121 deaths and of these, 12 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours. This brings the total fatalities to 94,905 to date.

THURSDAY, 27 JANUARY 2022

38,912 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, with 4,100 new cases, representing an 10.5% positivity rate. Today, the National Department of Health reports 160 deaths and of these, 34 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours, bringing total fatalities to 94,651 to date.

A total of 36,216 tests were conducted in the last 24hrs, with 3,197 new cases, representing an 8.8% positivity rate. Today, @HealthZA reports 132 deaths, of which 23 occurred in the past 24-48 hours. Total fatalities are 94,397 to date.

As per the National Department of Health, a further 53 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 91 198 to date.
