ZANELE Msiza got the shock of her life when a clinic nurse told her she couldn’t get the jab as she already received the J&J shot in October.
The 44-year-old from Plastic View extension 6 in Soshanguve told Daily Sun her job was on the line. To make matters worse, she had contracted Covid-19 which now put her family at risk as well.
Zanele said if the health department doesn't intervene she will lose her job and her family will suffer.
“I tried to explain to the staff at KT Motubatse Clinic that it was my first time but they didn’t take my story. I went to Home Affairs to check if my ID was being used by someone else but they didn’t find anything. I ended up getting infected with Covid-19. I am a high risk patient. My employer might be understanding now but we don’t know how long this will take,” she said.

She said health workers insisted she present her vaccination certificate to her employer. Zanele kept trying to explain that she had not been vaccinated yet but her words fell on deaf ears.
