Zama Ngcobo makes a comeback on TV.
Zama Ngcobo makes a comeback on TV.

AFTER disappearing a few years from the limelight, former SABC TV and Ukhozi FM presenter Zama Ngcobo is back.

The 39-year-old multi-talented presenter, actress and businesswoman from Eshowe, KZN will be on The Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) season four which will premiere on 9 February, on Showmax.

Zama, known as Tabitha on Generations, was also a presenter on Leading Citizen with Zama on SABC3 in 2018.

She said she has acted and presented but has never been on a reality show.

"It's important that after I have done many things on TV like acting and presenting, I get myself on a reality show because I never did it before.

“I hope people will give me a warm welcome as they welcomed me in TV presenting, acting and radio presenting,' she said.

Zama, who was presenting a breakfast show on Ukhozi FM, said saying yes to reality TV was an easy decision for her to make because it gives her time for transition.

“I first started as a presenter and then ventured into acting and many people were impressed by transition and when I did radio, people were also impressed.

“I’m excited to be trying something new. I didn’t find it difficult to be in front of the camera because I do that for a living,” she said.

Zama said she's not afraid of what the public will say about her or her storyline when her episodes air.

“I have been in this industry long enough not to stress myself about public opinion. Sometimes people can choose to misunderstand you even though what you may have said or done wasn’t fueled by malicious intent. I’m aware that I don’t have any control over that.

“I’m only concerned about the elderly generation in my family because they tend to take what people say to heart and their feelings are more of my concern. They know me for acting, not me in reality shows,” she said.

Zama joins RHOD alongised Nqobile ‘Angel’ Ndlela, they are joining returning cast members Nonku Williams, Sorisha Naidoo, Jojo Robinson, and Slindile Wendy Ndlovu.
