ZAKES Bantwini is getting ready for the 65th annual Grammy Awards.
The 42-year-old from Durban, whose real name is Zakhele Madida, will be attending the big show in Los Angeles, USA, on 6 February.
The Osama hitmaker told Daily Sun that he’s excited the wait is almost over.
“We will also be hosting a panel at the Grammy Museum curated by myself and hosted by Anele Mdoda. Everyone can follow this journey on my TikTok account @ZakesBantwini,” he said.

Zakes has been nominated for the Best Global Music Performance in the Global Music category.
“We’ll be headed out to Los Angeles a week prior to the awards with a few of my friends and colleagues. We can’t wait to capture this entire experience from the meet-ups, the site-seeing, the energy, anticipation and also the music,” he said.
“It feels amazing. It’s an honour to be recognised by the most important and well-respected music awards show in the world.”
Zakes said after all the work he has put in over the years, the nomination shows that it was recognised at the highest level.
“This nomination is a result of the hard work and dedication that me and my team have put into our work over the past year or so. We’re all so proud of this moment and we are optimistic that we stand a strong chance of bringing home this award,” he said.
The singer said he had a lot lined up for this year.

“But the main focus will be my Abantu concert, which we will be hosting at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town in a few months. I will also be releasing my final studio album Abantu,” he said.
“You can also expect the music video for our new hit single titled Asanda very soon. As usual, I’m collaborating with a lot of talented artists.”
