AWARD-WINNING gospel singer Winnie Mashaba has given birth.

The talented songbird, who’s been mum about her pregnancy until recently when she started sharing her breathtaking maternity pictures on social media to share the good news and thanked God for the new blessing in her life.

“I was blessed with a gorgeous baby girl. Oh Lord, I thank you, and thanks to everyone who wished me well during my pregnancy,” she said.

Shortly after sharing the good news, congratulatory messages flooded in for the musician from her friends, fans and industry colleagues, who wished her well on her new journey of motherhood.

Late last year when she announced her pregnancy, Winnie who had two miscarriages in the past, said she knew the pain of mistreatment.

“After two miscarriages, I gave everything to God. Sometimes I joke and say maybe Modimo [God] knows, if He gives me children now, I’m going to neglect the other responsibilities I have,” she told Drum magazine.

Her pregnancy also came after she got divorced from her husband of 16 years, Makgogo Makgopa.

According to reports, the gospel star’s marriage broke down after years of infidelity and irreconcilable differences between the singer and the businessman and she is allegedly going through counselling to deal with the separation.
