WHEN the show was announced, it caused a stir between Mzansi and Nigerians.
The advertisement was looking for four South African women who wanted to date Nigerian men, and people were against the idea.
Many people said it was a bad concept that degrades women.
But Showmax went ahead with it and cast people.
On Monday, 9 October, they released the trailer for the show called Bae Beyond Borders, where four Mzansi women will be dating 12 Nigerian men to find love.
The four women are Zezethu Mniki, Nande Ramcwana, Malibongwe Gumede and Vuvu Maseti.
Zezethu (34) from Joburg said she’s glad she entered the show.
“My colleague is the one who made me aware that there was a dating show that was up my alley. As soon as I saw the ad, I knew that this was something I wanted to be a part of. It spoke to me, and I'm glad that I followed my instincts and entered,” she said.

Nande (24) from the Eastern Cape said the experience has changed her life.
“Entering this show changed my life for the better. There were so many lessons I got to learn about myself, and that's invaluable. I'm going to use these lessons in my everyday life,” she said.
Malibongwe (31), who is a radio producer, describes herself as a very strong and dynamic lady.
“I love shopping, travelling, and going out with friends to eat some good food, and sometimes I can be an introvert and keep to myself,” Malibongwe said.
Vuvu (30) said: “I love to socialise. I like to think of myself as an introverted extrovert, but I’m the life of the party (according to my friends). I’m attracted to intelligent, good-looking, tall men. I love the arts and being able to express my creativity through my make-up work.”
The ladies will choose eight favourites, then eventually choose one man to take back home with them.
They'll move into a villa in Cape Town to see if they want to move forward together as a couple.
