This year on Valentine’s Day, he surprised his wife with a new hotel in Northcliff, Joburg.

Last year, he booked off FNB Stadium for a Valentine’s dinner for his radio and TV personality wife while being serenaded by singer Zonke.
Now Ndlala is being sued for allegedly owing Steyn City Properties money.

According to court papers seen by Daily Sun, last March, Ndlala went into a one-year lease agreement for a property in Steyn City, north of Joburg.
Lawyers told the High Court in Joburg that Ndlala failed to keep up with the R25 000 a month rental. Due to not paying, he was now owing R225 000 for rental plus 7,5% annual interest. The company resorted to approaching court for an order to compel Ndlala to pay.
The court papers stated that defendants had breached the lease agreement by failing to pay rent from May last year to January this year, and that R225 000 was now payable.
Ndlala told Daily Sun that he was helping a friend and family when he leased the apartment because he didn’t want to see them homeless.

“I was helping a black brother. I don’t live on that property, which is a three-bedroomed apartment. I leased that property for a friend, who could not do so because he was blacklisted,” he said.
“I took the apartment through my company Thami Ndlala Holdings because I didn’t have any problems and I had the capacity to do so. It is now coming to bite me because I was helping someone else.”
He said he had paid R50 000 for the deposit and first month rental for his friend so he and his family could move. He didn’t understand why the couple had not been paying rent because they were employed.
Ndlala lost a court battle last year against Daily Sun’s now closed sister publication, Sunday Sun.
“Last March, Media24 taxed a cost order against Ndlala for over R80k. This related to a failed urgent application brought against Sunday Sun,” said Andrew Boerner from Jurgens Bekker Attorneys.
“To date, he has only paid about a third. He has made several promises to pay but these never materialised. Last year, his attorney advised that he could not afford to pay the full amount. We have not been able to attach any movable or immovable assets as according to public records, he does not own property and the bank accounts we attached were empty. The only way forward will be to sequestrate him.”
Steyn City’s lawyers declined to comment. At the time of going to print we couldn’t get hold of the friend Ndlala claimed was living on the property.
