Palesa told SunBuzz she’s passionate about helping young people. And this is one of the reasons she opened an acting academy.
“One problem I’ve identified was the fact that in Soweto a lot of young people finish high school only to stay at home and do nothing. This is not always by choice but due to prevailing circumstances,” she said.
“Another thing is that if a talented person wants to either study acting or go to an audition, they have to catch a taxi to get out of Soweto in search of opportunities.”
Her academy is called Vision Set Academy. It’s a free drama academy for people who can’t afford to go to university.
“The academy is two years old and one of my students from last year is on The Queen as Bhambatha,” she said.
Describing herself, Palesa said for her acting is a God-given talent and it’s one of the tools she uses to touch souls and make a difference.
