UKHOZI FM listener, Ayanda Mdletshe, has finally been paid for a competition he won and he is disappointed.
He was expecting R5 000 in his bank account but he received a Get Rewards gift card loaded with R5 000.
“I was expecting R5000 in cash but I received a voucher worth R5000.
“I don’t want to sound ungrateful but I am a
bit disappointed because I would have preferred cash over this voucher.
“This is because I’m trying to maintain one of the local soccer stadiums here in Pietermaritzburg, KZN.
“It hasn’t been maintained for a while and as a result, there are trees and long grass that need to be cut.
“I planned to hire people to cut those trees and grass so that we could use the stadium for our projects. This will not be possible because I need cash to pay them,” he said.

He said he will not take the voucher back to Castle Milk Stout that ran the competition on Ukhozi FM.
“The only option I have is to find people who can give me cash and I’ll buy items of the same amount with the voucher.
“I don’t think I’ll ever enter competitions again. This was my first competition and I had a bad experience.
“I’d like to thank Daily Sun for making sure that I got what was due to me,” he said.
Last week, Ayanda told Daily Sun that he had entered the competition in December last year and won, but he never received the money.
He then approached the Small Claims Court in Durban but three months later, there was still no payment.
“They promised to pay me within 14 days but it never happened.
“I have a project where I help unemployed youth to enhance their talent. I was hoping to use that money to sustain that project,” he told Daily Sun.
Brand manager of Castle Milk Stout, Khensani Mkhombo said: “We never promised him cash but a voucher which he can use in any store in South Africa. All the terms and conditions are enclosed in it.”
