JAZZ musician Gally Ngoveni (35) is a bass guitar specialist.
He is promoting his album Echoes of Magobe, with 26 tracks released in 2022.
Gally, based in Tshwane, sings mostly in the Xitsonga language.
The musician, originally from Giyane in Limpopo, is a multi-instrumentalist and plays almost all string instruments.
"Jazz chose me, and I'm enjoying it as it's now part of my life. The great part about jazz music is that it talks to people," he said.
Gally said being a musician has made him feel at peace whenever he lifts his guitar and starts playing it.

He said that most people are not used to jazz but hope that will change.
"I now play world music like Afro-pop and different types of music as I don't want to limit myself in the music world," he said.
The musician said one needs to be disciplined and have direction.
Gally said in the music world, everything is new because one learns and teaches others.
"What I have realised as a musician, one needs to give people what they want and always make sure you treat them nicely," he said.
Gally said the music industry needs networking because, in music, you learn until you die.
His first album, Swiganga, was released in 2013.
