MOURNERS described DJ Skinny Deep as an ever-smiling person.
Family and friends gathered to pay their last respect to Duduetsang Gift "Skinny Deep" Maluleka (32), who was shot and killed next to Giant Stadium in Soshanguve, Tshwane on Monday, 29 January.
Skinny Deep was laid to rest at Mabopane Cemetery in Mabopane on Sunday, 4 February.
The popular DJ's uncle Oupa Mathebula said his nephew lived a simple life.
"He was a child who will always accept his mistakes and will regret and be deeply hurt about what he has done," he said.

Oupa said he hoped that such children would be the ones to lay their parents to rest and not the other way around.
Thapelo Rapoo, Skinny Deep's brother, praised him as a respectful man, cherishing the memories of his smile.
"I will remember him, and I wish to have respect like him and continue to always remember him," he said.
Skinny Deep's aunt, Siphiwe Mnisi, said she was heartbroken after the incident.
"He was a respectful child and loved his music," she said.
Reading the obituary, Skinny Deep's sister, Onkarabile Mathebula, recalled his achievements in basketball at Rosinah Sedibane Sports Centre and highlighted his passion for music.
"His love of music drove him to become a well-known DJ until his death," he said.
Representative of DJs, Neo Moeletsi, described Skinny Deep as a best friend and reliable companion.
Artist and friend Omphemetse Mangwane said: "We are deeply hurt and heartbroken to lose Skinny Deep. A friend who was always smiling,"
He also mentioned Skinny Deep's ongoing work on Bacardi songs and a promising future.
Neighbour Tebogo Moeketsi remembered Skinny Deep as a good person with great respect.
