WISEMAN Mncube has addressed rumours that he’ll be leaving Uzalo.
The actor’s character Sibonelo, the son of notorious thug Nkunzi Mhlongo, was recently shot and badly hurt, sparking rumours that he was being written out of the show.
The 32-year-old from Durban told Daily Sun he would not be leaving the show, but would be off air for about two months because his schedule was very busy.
It was recently announced that he had scored a big role in the series Shaka Ilembe, which tells the story of the legendary King Shaka from childhood. He will be playing the role of Inkosi Zwide kaLanga Nxumalo of the Ndwandwe nation.
Wiseman said Uzalo fans should relax as he was not going anywhere.

“Many people are worried, thinking I’m leaving Uzalo as my character was seriously wounded but I am not.
“That was a way to make me disappear in style to go and shoot Shaka Ilembe,” he said.
“Maybe I will disappear for two months, but then I will be back. People are saying I’m quitting and they are very worried, asking me not to leave. “They must relax. I am not quitting.” and they will soon see me because I will be back to entertain them.”
Wiseman said he really enjoyed playing Sibonelo because he was unpredictable.
“I started as a medical doctor and turned out to be a thug. All these characters are good for me because I love doing something unpredictable.”
Wiseman said it was a milestone for him to be part of a production about Shaka because he grew up hearing stories about the king and how he established the Zulu nation.
