AFRO-SOUL lovers are set to get a treat from some of their most-loved musicians for two days, performing live in Tshwane.

Following the most successful gospel leg of Magic Music Sessions last month, the Afro-soul edition will now take place.

The two-day event will be hosted at Sun Arena, Time Square, on Friday and Saturday, 5 and 6 August.

Vertex Events executive director Thato Segaole said this year, Magic Music Sessions would be celebrating six years of memorable musical experiences while taking the audience on a journey to shine a light on Afro-soul sounds, showcased by seasoned artists.

Thato said the star-studded line-up would include artists such as Mafikizolo, Zonke, Dr Winnie Mashaba, Elaine, Sjava, Amanda Black, Big Zulu, Lloyiso, Nomfundo Moh, Langa Mavuso, Ayanda Jiya and Aubrey Qwana. And, the event would be hosted by MC Sipho Alphi Mkhwanazi.

“The event is extra special because of live performances by talented artists. It is a show that generally sells out, and we believe this is because the audience really loves the experience it offers,” he said.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Big Zulu said: “I am excited to be part of this amazing event. I can’t wait to give my fans an out-of-this-world performance. I hope they will come in their numbers.”

Tickets for both shows are available, from R250 to R650, at Webtickets and Pick n Pay stores nationwide.

Doors will open at 5pm on Friday and 3pm on Saturday.
