MZANSI’s loved Ndebele actor, Sipho Mbele, has signed a contract with Scandal! and has confirmed that he’ll start shooting in June.

The actor, businessman, motivational speaker and author landed the recurring role of Donald Mahlangu on the e.tv soapie, which made its first appearance on 28 March 2017.

He told Daily Sun that one of the producers from Scandal! called and told him that they wanted to bring his character back.

Sipho, who is excited to be back, has appeared on several television shows.

In his screen debut, he played the role of a court clerk on the SABC2 soapie, Muvhango, in 2007.

He has also appeared on the drama series, Jacob’s Cross, Mtunzini.com and Soul City.

In 2018, he was cast as Msweswe in the SABC1 drama series, iKani.

The series was about a young artist who found out that she was from a Ndebele family, having been raised by her aunt as a Zulu girl.

The following year, he played the role Mr Mbhense in the SABC1 comedy-drama series, Makoti.

In 2020, Sipho landed another role, this time playing Ngwazi Mahlangu in the SABC2 medical drama series, Vutha.

He has also been on Diep City, Isithembiso, The Legacy and Surviving Gaza.

He has held workshops around kasis in KwaNdebele in Mpumalanga to motivate the youth.

Sipho is happy to see e.tv giving Ndebele people more screen time.

He emphasised that isiNdebele is an official language and should be treated like the rest of the languages.
