TEBOGO G Mashego, a 21-year-old TikTok sensation from Tshwane West, found unexpected fame after posting a video of himself singing along to a Basta 929 song on the popular social media platform.
And now, Tebogo is making a name for himself after an overwhelming positive response.
He has released a new barcadi song titled Kunyeke and told Daily Sun that he's enjoying the fame.
“It feels so good to be known and when people tell me that they love my videos,” he said.
Tebogo said he has a passion for music, considering that it's a stress reliever and a means of escaping life's challenges.
He said that he has learnt to stay humble.
“What keeps me going is respect and listening to advice that my mentors give me. This industry is small and one thing about fame is that it doesn’t last. Anytime is teatime, so I must be focused and listen,” he said.

Tebogo said he joined TikTok after someone encouraged him to create videos because he was entertaining.
“A man by the name Koketso Destroyer said that I must do videos and I never took him serious but look at me now,” he said.
Tebogo said his followers make him want to push harder.
“I must keep on pushing until I have cars and my own house,” he said.
He said despite him facing criticism for dropping out of school in grade 11, he has proven that success can come in unexpected ways.
“I wasn’t behaving well at school and that made me underperform so I had to repeat my grades and after that I decided to drop out,” he said.
He said his song Kunyeke talks about money.
“The message from the song is that people must make money and not friends,” he said.
