AMAPIANO singer Themba Maseko is following in his grandfather’s footsteps.
He told SunBuzz, growing up, he used to look up to his grandfather, Foyi Ndlovu, who is a musician.
Themba said: “I used to watch my grandfather sing.
“I used to hold his guitar and accompany him when he played at big events.”
The 29-year-old musician from Secunda, Mpumalanga, who now resides in Midrand, said he also used to be a dancer for his grandfather’s band and . Themba said that he used to inspired him a lot.was inspired by a lot of musicians.
He said this is the reason fell in love with music. The musician said he grew up as a bujwa dancer.
“I used to imitate the late Afro-pop singer, Michael Jackson, kwaito star Arthur Mafokate and singer Usher.
“I also used to sing their songs and copy their dance moves,” he said.
In 2010, Themba visited his friend Thulani Nkonde’s studio.

“This is where I did the song, out of jokingly. The single wasBathi Ngiskhothane, which trended. That’s how I became an artist.”
Themba released a single titled Musho last month.
The song has since been trending on TikTok and other social media platforms.
He said his fans have also come up with a new dance challenge called the MushoChallenge, based on the song.
“In the song I featured Mavuthela and Emkay. I am happy my fans have fallen in love with it.”
This is a follow-up to his previous single, Konka, which will be featured in Black Panther 2.
“I’ve worked with Bizizi, DJ Cleo, the late HHP, Mampinsha and other big names in the industry so far,”he said.
Themba said his dream is to work with DJ Tira, Master KG, Maphorisa and Kabza Da Small in future.
He believes they have the same taste when it comes to music.
We all talented and gifted in our own ways. I would be happy to be in studio with them one day,” Themba said.
