THE National Prosecution Authority (NPA) has revealed what happened on the day of the alleged assault of Thandani "Bibo" Ntshumayelo's girlfriend.
The former Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United midfielder was arrested on Saturday, 2 February.
According to NPA Gauteng spokeswoman Phindi Mjonondwane, the incident happened at Ntshumayelo's place of residence.
“The complaint is in a relationship with the accused and alleges that she was with him and his friends at his place when a fight between the accused and one of his friends ensued.
"She then tried to intervene in an attempt to calm down the accused. Ntshumayelo then allegedly became aggressive towards her, by slapping her across the face, grabbed her by her head and hit it against the wall. She further alleges that he then pushed her to the ground,” she said.
The 33-year-old appeared Ntshumayelo briefly appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court where his matter was postponed to 4 April, and he was granted R1 000 bail.
