Kwesta ubuyile! The rapper is back in the music game after being quite for some time.

The 34-year-old from Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, is making a comeback with a killer collaboration with the King of amapiano, Kabza De Small, on his upcoming project called Speak and Vrostaan.

He also released two singles last Friday, titled Mrholo Wayizolo and Huzet.

The project is set around the elevation of the pantsula kwaito experience, bringing together two giants in the music industry.

, The narrative is reminiscent of the kwaito sound and lifestyle with a nostalgic feel, telling modern township stories of self-expression that are impactful and significant to the current times.

Speaking to SunBuzz, Kwesta said that there are many reasons that made him take a break from the music industry, including the Covid-19 pandemic and not feeling like he was in a space to push music.

“I mean there’s a lot of reasons that made me take a break from the industry, some being the Covid situation, and I had a situation where I had to rearrange whom I wanna work with in the industry, and yeah I just didn’t feel like I was in a space to push music,” he said.

The rapper said that he decided to work with Kabza because he’s a fan of his music.

“The reason I choose to work with him is that I am a fan and there was a time we had a conversation and he also revealed to me that he was my fan, and to be honest it wasn’t really a decision we just wanted to play around different music and because we got along, we turned this into a project, that is how Speak and Vrostaan was born,” he added.

Their project is set to be released before the end of this year.

“Yeah, now I’m fully back in the industry, and I have over 50 songs that I’ve been recording with Kabza, which might also turn out to be another project.

“I’m lso back to pushing some hardcore hip-hop that my fans know me of, so yeah, kuningi,” added Kwesta.
