Andrea (44), originally from Sada in the Eastern Cape, told Daily Sun that she eventually took the spiritual journey she had been in denial about for a long time.
The former Home Affairs actress said she was getting signs that she could no longer run away. The signs started manifesting and in the last two years, they intensified.
“It was a difficult and heartbreaking decision. It was hard on my ego but the best for my spirituality. Things were falling apart. I could not burden my son with the excess of my denials,” she said.
“I’m a fully-fledged sangoma practising full-time in the Eastern Cape,” she said. Andrea said she became spiritually and physically sick.
Her knees and ankles were aching, keeping her awake. She said as a child, she experienced a lot of spiritual attacks.
“The training of being a sangoma was tough. It’s not child’s play. It’s hard, whether mentally, physically, spiritually or financially. It is a new way of living,” she said.
The confirmation to become a sangoma came through her grandmother’s dream, who told her to prepare as her father was coming to get her.
