THE South African Amapiano Music Awards have been postponed.

They were supposed to take place on Sunday, 2 April.

Organisers said it wasn’t an easy decision.

The awards were to be held at the Sun Arena in Tshwane and hosted by Robot Boii.

“We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding this event, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our guests, nominees, and sponsors.

“The decision to postpone the event was not an easy one, but it was made with careful consideration,” the statement read.

The organisers said they are working on finding a new date.

People who bought tickets will have the option to be refunded.

Alternatively, they can use the tickets for the new date.

“We are working diligently to identify a new date and we will announce it very soon. All tickets and sponsorships will be honoured for the rescheduled date, and our ticketing partner, Computicket will be contacting all affected patrons who bought tickets and afford them an option to either exchange their ticket for the new date or request a full refund,” they said.

They also extended the closing date for the closing lines.

Some nominees for the awards include Amaroto, Major League DJz, Mellow & Sleazy, Murumba Pitch and Scorpion Kings for Best Amapiano Duo / Group.
