FOR 46 years, music group Soul Brothers has been rocking crowds across the world and sticking to its own type of mbaqanga.

Members of the group have vowed to continue doing the genre as it is special to them.

In November, the award-winning group will be releasing its 47th album, though it still has no name.

And founding member Dr Moses Ngwenya said it would be featuring a well-known gospel singer, adding that their name would be a surprise.

“What I can reveal is that our songs are talking about the daily sufferings of people,” he said.

Moses said they started working on the album about six months ago, and he wrote the songs with Thokozani Hadebe, Nkosinathi Ngwenya and Scelo Ndlela.

Soul Brothers has worked with artists and groups including Ladysmith Black Mambazo and the late Dr Steve Kekana.

Moses started Soul Brothers in 1976 alongside the late David Masondo, Tuza Mthethwa, Zenzele Mchunu and American Zulu.

He said they had new members, who had been doing quite well in the group.

He said that next Easter, the group would tour across South Africa before heading to Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Eswatini.
