Skweletu Chiliza hosted a free festival to thank his fans in KZN.

Although young maskandi star Skweletu Chiliza didn’t scoop the number one spot on the Ukhozi FM Song of the Year list, he had a big reason to celebrate.

Skweletu, who came in second on the Ukhozi FM Ingoma Ehlukanisa Unyaka which was won by Big Nuz, chose to celebrate his position two in style.

He celebrated with a big festival at Bombo Stadium in his village at Umzimkhulu, KZN, on Monday, 9 January, where people were entertained for free.

The celebratory festival featured artists such as maskandi star Khuzani “Indlamlenze” Mpungose, gospel star Jumbo, Menzi, Mjolisi and Khaza.

The 24-year-old musician told SunBuzz that because people loved him and voted for him, he decided to do something good for them.

“Music lovers worked hard by voting for me to become number two.

“The festival is to thank them and make them happy because they truly supported me with their votes,” said Skweletu.

“I asked all people to come and celebrate with us our position two, which is our biggest win.”

Music lovers were treated to a great festival for free.

“I brought the big guns in the music industry to entertain people at the festival that was free for everyone” he said.

Skweletu added that there are many artists to be added on the lineup including local ones that will be confirmed on the day of the festival.
