MUSICIAN Siphosethu Thabethe is heartbroken, and still can’t believe that his friend, Gomora actor Siyabonga Zubane (23), has died.
The 24-year-old from Sunnyside, Tshwane, said it would be difficult to gain a friend like him because he was unique and talented.
Siphosethu, who is a hip hop and R&B artist, said he had known Siya for more than a year.
“Losing him is emotionally draining. I wanted to push my journey of music with him, but it is now difficult because I am alone. I featured him in the song Indoda Ayikhali, which will be released after I receive blessings from his mum. I want to donate all royalties to the family as my tribute to Siyabonga,” he said.

Siphosethu, originally from Mpumalanga, has pleaded with music lovers to play the song on the Internet because by doing so, it would be a good offering to the family.
“We did the song last October, and were planning to shoot a music video. He was very talented,” he said.
The musician, who also runs an online sneakers store called Global Kicks, added that he would remember Siyabonga as a versatile actor, singer, dancer and poet.
The actor will be buried on Sunday, 15 May, at Waterfall Cemetery in Midrand, Joburg.
