STAND-UP comedian Shampoonaiza will host a comedy show on his birthday on 30 June at African Beer Emporium in Tshwane.
The comedian, whose real name is Thapelo Seemise, told Daily Sun he decided to share his day with people who support his comedy in a set up that he excels in and that will make everyone happy.
“It’s a celebration of life and people can expect a comedy show that will uplift and celebrate the ups and downs of life through special comedians like Dillan Oliphant, Thabiso Mhlongo and Smokey Nyembe,” he said.
He said the comedy industry is growing. “I feel good to keep giving new comedians a platform at my monthly Shampoonaiza comedy show at Cofi Centurion,” he said.

Shampoonaiza said his fans can expect to see DJs like DJ Tzee, Miggs Foreal and Trancemic Soul at some of his shows.
When Daily Sun asked him about his plans, he said: “My sports comedy could be pushed even beyond TV screens and maybe evolve into a podcast or YouTube channel. I might start acting again, we’ll never know."
He said his shows help fight mental illness.
“My comedy shows have always been about mental wellness and making people forget about their problems and celebrate the positives in their lives,” he said.
He said corporate companies need his comedy to tackle the depression that is affecting their staff. “My comedy addresses ‘hard’ issues in a lighthearted manner. That is what I’m always selling to the world. That’s my superpower,” he said.
