SINGER Kelly Khumalo has opened up about her relationship with Zandi Khumalo-Gumede.

The sisters have started warming up to each other, but a lot of healing still needs to take place.

Kelly revealed this on the second episode of her reality show, Life with Kelly Khumalo Season 3.

“I’m at a point where I’m tired of being mad. It doesn’t serve me anymore and I think we should find an amicable way of dealing with each other. I felt my mother wasn’t doing her part,” she said.

“I feel she should apologise, but it’s a two-way thing. I don’t know how she feels about me or certain things I might have done to her without realising how they impacted her. We haven’t had serious conversations but we speak regularly. I feel like I’ve lost so much time, especially where my godson is concerned,” she said.

According to Kelly, she was not aware her sister was pregnant.

“I heard from the grapevine that my sister was pregnant and I was like, whew... ok,” she said.

She said she finally met her godson.

“I love that little boy. Every time I speak about him, I get teary,” she said.

“I’ve gone through so many things and I was like, how was my godson born without me? He doesn’t even know me. That’s how deep this is, so we cannot take this lightly and pretend nothing happened.

“I lost three years of my relationship with my sister and I lost seven months of my relationship with my godson. I cannot just override it.

“That is why I’m fighting for this to be done properly so that it never happens again, but also for every individual in the family to understand the value of family and what happens when one wrongs the other,” she continued.

During the episode, Kelly also addressed the issue of the late Senzo Meyiwa.

She said she is tired of being asked the same questions over and over again.

She was asked how she handles the controversy around her and her response was: “It’s their drama, not mine. It’s projection and they’re hoping that I will react to drama. Too bad, I’m not going to. I don’t have time for rubbish. I’m too grown up for that.

“I’ve created a very safe and peaceful space for myself and my family and I’m very happy. In fact, I’m at my best at this point,”
