Gospel singer and songwriter Sibusiso Mthembu, who is popularly known as SbuNoah, feels alive when he is on stage.
He told SunBuzz that singing is a gift he was born with. while holding the mic on stage is what he knows best.
The 36-year-old singer from Inanda, KZN, said : “My dad influenced my love of music because he loved all music genres.”
SbuNoah said he started singing in church.
“I joined the church’s worship team when I was in varsity and served until I became a worship leader.
“I only started recording music professionally later in life because my focus was on my studies,” he said.
SbuNoah said he later joined Joyous Celebration.
“I worked with the Joyous Celebration founders, who taught me a lot about the gospel music industry.
“When I did my solo project, I worked with the group’s musical director, Siyanqoba Mthethwa,” he said.
In March, the singer released a single titled, Nxa Ngimbona, from his upcoming album set to be released soon.
“In April, I released Surely Goodness as my second single,” he said.
SbuNoah said he writes the majority of his music.
“I’ve been blessed to have songs that many people love in my musical journey.
“The ones that stand out for me are Hallelujah Nkateko from Joyous Celebration and Ewe Getsemane from my debut album, A David Kind Of Psalm,”he said.
“I do traditional and a bit of contemporary gospel music,” he said.

SbuNoah is excited that he will be performing at the His Presence Gospel Music Concert to be held at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town on 22 July.
He said he wants to showcase his skills to the whole world.
“I am super excited about this show. It’s going to be the best show ever this year those who love my performance must come and see me along-side Lusanda Beka,Take Ndou,Xolisa Kwinana and Ayanda Ntanzi,”he said.
