ALL roads lead to Mpumalanga this coming weekend for the 17th annual South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMAs) on Saturday, 1 October.
The event will be held at Mbombela Stadium, with this year’s theme being: My Culture, Your Culture, One Nation.
The awards will be held in partnership with the Department of Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation in the province.
Kick-starting the weekend will be a golf day at the Matumi Golf Course on Friday, hosted by Muvhango actor Dingaan Khumalo.

The main event will feature live performances from talented artists including Intaba Yase Dubai, Nathi Mankayi, Nomcebo Zikode, Zama Khumalo Cevuzile and Lebo Sekgobela. Then the band that played alongside late reggae legend Lucky Dube will take the audience down memory lane to pay homage to the icon, before the main event at the University of Mpumalanga on Saturday.
It will be hosted by former Muvhango actor Lesley Musina and actress Kajal Maharaj.

Nominees include Daniel Brothers, Amanda Mankayi and Royalson, who were nominated in the Best Afro Soul Song and Best Praise Singer Artist categories.
Among other categories, nominees for Best Traditional Social Media Influencer are Brighton Thembalethu, Zamamboe Mkhize, Neliswe Faith Sibiya, Bafana Mthembu, Audrey Skhosana, Tinyiko Khoza, Faith Mgobhozi, Yenkosinabadala Makhoba, Thando Mahlangu, Thato Angel and Nomalizwi MC Mhlongo.
