The South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA) together with Paradise Worldwide took three young women abroad.

This is part of their 3 months Building Bridges Programme where they took 3 interns to learn a few things about the industry in Germany.

The musicians Martha Mangwani, Namakau Socika, and Sharon Ramoshaba left in February and will return home in May.

Chief Marketing Officer at Sampra Tiyani Maluleke told Daily Sun she was excited about this initiative as it will open doors for these young talents.

"SAMPRA is proud to be part of Building Bridges. We are incredibly proud of the three ladies that have made it on the programme and we can’t wait to see how they will use this opportunity to advance in their careers," she said.

Head of Paradise Africa Distribution Sarah Jane Nicholson, on behalf of Paradise Worldwide, said she believes this will open doors for women.

“We believe that internships are a pivotal moment in the lives of many individuals, as they are often the first exposure to a professional working environment and all its key elements," she said.

Sharon Ramoshaba told the SunTeam that she is enjoying every moment there.

"My experience in Berlin has been nothing short of incredible, I have been learning greatly about not only the German music culture but also about the music industry as a whole. I recognise the amount of work and effort, from multiple teams, that goes into releasing each song," she said.

Sharon said various engagements with diverse stakeholders have enabled her to significantly improve her marketing and communication skills.

Martha Mangwani said this is a dream come true for her.

“I’m excited about this Build Bridges programme because the cultural exchange has always been one of the greatest goals in my vision board calendar, especially in the development of my career,” Martha said.
