AFTER 23 years of drama, surprises, happiness, sadness and tears, Hillsiders have bid goodbye to the Hillside Heights.

The ever-fabulous Paula van de Lecq made a comeback to film a show about 7de Laan and the Heights, and how they impacted her career. Errol also showed up on Christmas Day for a final tour of the Hillside Heights with Vanessa.

The building which most Hillsiders have stayed in was demolished because of a sinkhole under it. The Hillside Heights had the iconic Oppiekoffie, which was owned by Francois just before he sold it to Charmaine Meintjies for many years up until she left for Cape Town when she fell in love with Lesedi’s father.

It also had the fabulous boutique, Eclectic E which was owned by Felicity Daniels.

The building has also been where people have tied the knot, broken up, moved in, moved out, that’s where gossip usually started and spread, and some have unfortunately died in there. It will forever be the original home of the Hillsiders.

Former Hillsiders, Emma, Vince, Christelle, Ryno and Bart also popped in to say goodbye.

And just like that, the Heights was demolished and the Hillsiders bid goodbye to their home. Many of the people who stayed there have moved away and are starting their lives in different places.

Aggie moved to Mpumalanga and is running an event planning company there. The Petersons moved to Cape Town and started their lives there. The Visagies moved and bought a bigger house.

It’s sad that villains, Mariaan and De Wet died, leaving their families distraught. They killed each other in the most unexpected way.

Mariaan poisoned De Wet and upon realising that he was dying, he took out his gun and shot her. Just like that, Hillside’s villains both died.

On Skeem Saam, Jacobeth is upset at Lizzy for leaving her to spend Christmas alone, she had to eat Christmas lunch alone because Lizzy has moved in with her new family. But what was she supposed to do? She had no choice but to spend it with her new family, that’s her home now and Jacobeth needs to understand.

It's also been tough for Lizzy because her mum-in-law is actually a monster-in-law. MaNtuli is mistreating poor Lizzy.

Mr Kgomo has moved back to his house and Paxton is happy because he thinks his mum and dad will get back together.

The big question is, will Ivy ever forgive Mr Kgomo for cheating on her?
